Croft - 13 March 2007 - Virgin Mobile R6 Cup Media launch and Test
Tuesday was the first official test at Croft Circuit with Dean Jones and Lee Wilson attending. The day was taken up with running the bikes in and getting used to them.
For Lee it was his first chance to see what it was like riding in a competitive environment and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He has a lot to learn but is comfortable on the bike and pushing quite hard already. His first race is at Silverstone on Sunday 25th March.
It was also Dean's first chance to test the competition and there are some very quick riders in the R6 Cup this season. Dean concentrated on running in his bike first and then pushing a bit later in the afternoon. He was suprised how quick some of the other riders were already, but he is well up for the challenge.

Silverstone - 25 March 2007 - Round 1
Well off to Silverstone for the first race in the NG Road Racing Championship, and after a fairly awful test at Snetterton in arctic conditions it was nice to arrive to bright sunshine and clear skies. There was a chill in the air but nothing like the freezing cold of Snetterton.
It was good to see Phil Bevan #13 there, riding his Ducati 996 in the Front Row Mini Twin Championship. He went on to finish 3rd in his race so well done Phil. He might even be riding under the STP flag once again this year.
For Lee "the clippers" Wilson #214, it was his first ever race and understandably he had little sleep the night before. But he still managed to qualify 7th, and after some hair raising slides in the race he finished his first race in 7th place, winning first novice across the line. So first race and first trophy can't be bad.
Luke Jones #82 was riding really well, qualified on pole and won his race convincingly.
Dean Jones was riding in the Frazers of Gloucester 600cc class and qualified 3rd in his heat. He finished 14th overall in the race after a few bike problems.
So all in all a very good start to the NG Road Racing Season.

Pembrey - 3 November 2007 - BSN Autumn Challenge
Phil Bevan #13
Phil had a fantastic weekend at Pembrey to win for the second year the coveted Prince of Pembrey and the Powerbike Championship races. For the second year running the weather decided to be good for the BSN Autumn Challenge and sun shone for most of the weekend. Phil's dominance at Pembrey never looked in question as he lead from the start for most of the races.
It was a great way to end one of his best seasons racing ever. The season saw him run away with the 2007 Frasers of Gloucester Open Championship by 59 points over second place rider Joe Symonds who in turn pipped Phil by 16 points to win the Phoenix Powerbikes Championship. However Phil accrued enough points to take the overall NG Roadracing Club Championship.
Shall we see if we can make it three years in a row winning the Fraser's of Gloucester Open?
